Our Services
At ShadowSpec Film Co., we specialize in mobile automotive window tinting services, delivering exceptional quality and convenience right to your doorstep. Our commitment to excellence ensures that your vehicle not only looks great but also benefits from enhanced privacy and UV protection.
Window Tinting
Our window tinting service offers a variety of shades and films to suit your preferences, providing a sleek appearance while reducing heat and glare inside your vehicle. Our films range in price and quality from a "standard" charcoal-dyed film to carbon and then high-end ceramic. Our shades range from 70% to 2%, depending on which film option you choose. We can provide tint installation for nearly every vehicle year, make, and model, as well as utility vehicles and agricultural equipment.
Pre-Cut Film Templates
Everyone enjoys a good DIY project from time to time, and window tinting is a very common one for those looking to increase their vehicle's appearance while saving a few dollars. We can offer pre-cut window templates, so all you have to do is clean the window, peel the film, and squeegee it on yourself. These are the same templates that we use, from the same film options. Please contact us to see if templates for your vehicle are available.
Future Services
Currently, automotive tint installation and pre-cut templates are the only things we offer. However, Paint Protection Film (PPF) and vinyl wrapping are services we may offer in the future. Residential and commercial tinting services could be accommodated depending on the project scope.
Please reach out if there is a service you feel like you need a source for, and we will be happy to discuss how we can assist!
North Carolina Window Tint Laws
Per § 20-127
The following is a summary of the laws stated in NC G.S. 20-127, which can be found here or at ncleg.gov
-
All vehicles:
-
May have tint on the windshield as dark as you want that does not extend from the top more than five inches OR below the AS1 line, whichever is longer.
-
The windshield may be covered in an untinted clear film that blocks UV rays but does not obstruct vision.
-
Shall not have any film/material on a window that is red, yellow, or amber in color.
-
-
Coupe, hatchback, and sedan side & rear windows:
-
The total light transmission (how automotive tint is categorized, 35%, 15%, etc.) shall be at least 35% on any window—with a 3% grace.
-
Example: A 4-door Chevy Malibu tinted using 35% film on all windows except the windshield would be legal.
-
-
The tint shall not reflect more than 20% of light
-
This would not be a problem unless you custom-ordered an exotic film
-
-
-
SUVs, trucks, and vans with under 10 passengers:
-
These vehicles fall under the exceptions of Section (c)(9), which means that any window behind the driver can be as dark as you want, while the two front doors cannot be darker than 35%.
-
Example: A 4-door F-150 could be tinted using 5% film on the back glass and rear doors and 35% on the front two doors to be completely legal.
-
OR if a new SUV comes with the rear windows tinted from the factory, those windows can be made as dark as you want, and you can add 35% to the front two doors.
